OUR PURPOSE
To extend God’s living hope to people through a simple relationship
with Jesus. Our love is intentional and relationships are our focus.
(Titus 2: 11-15)
OUR GOAL
To follow Jesus and help others grow into mature fruitful
leaders that will in turn go and lead others to Jesus.
We do this through practical Bible teaching, genuine fellowship,
prayer and praising God with music.
OUR VISION
We see an increasing amount of people coming to Jesus as
we share our hope with others. (Romans 10:13-15)
According to Acts 2:42-47 we are devoted to these priniciples:
PRACTICAL
BIBLE TEACHING
is based on the Bible God’s inspired word, presented in clear
everyday language, emphasizing practical application. (Matt.28:19-20,
Acts 2:42, Eph.
4:11-13)
GENUINE FELLOWSHIP
is people committing themselves to meaningful and
lasting relationships based on the one thing every believer has in
common. Faith in Jesus.
We do this through love, care, acceptance forgiveness and communion
(Acts 2:42,
1 John 1:6-7)
PRAYER
is two-way communication with God demonstrating our dependence
on and relationship with Him. (Matt.6:6-13)
PRAISING GOD
is attributing worth to the Father, to Jesus Christ and
to the Holy Spirit. This includes expressions of worship through
contemporary music, singing, spoken worship, applause, standing,
kneeling, lifting
hands and offering our
lives for service. (Rom. 12:1-2)
Core Values of Living Hope
THE BIBLE - The Bible is the Plumb line to provide
direction in the life of each fully devoted individual believer and community.
It is completely inspired by God and is foundational to every facet of our
lives. Truth from the Bible is both real and reliable.
(2 Timothy 3:16).
SERVING is the privilege and responsibility
of all believers. It involves using our time, energy, skills, money, possessions,
and spiritual
gifts to help others.
(Gal. 5:13 , Rom. 12:4-8)
COMMUNION AND WATER BAPTISM are regular celebrations
of our relationship with Jesus, remembering and proclaiming His death and
resurrection
until He comes again.
(Acts 2:42, 1 Cor. 11:23-26) (Mathew 28:19, 1 Peter 3:18-22)
BEING LED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT is responding obediently
to the impulses and impressions of God by His Spirit in regard to truth,
sin and righteousness. Also, yielding to His work through us
with spiritual gifts
and manifestations for the building up of others.
(John 16:5-14, Romans 12:4-8, 1 Cor. 12)
A VERBAL WITNESS - We fulfill a mandate on our
lives as believers when we tell seekers about a simple but vital relationship
with
God through Jesus.
(Rom. 10:13-15)
UNITY - Unity among us is essential for seekers
to believe in Jesus.
(John 17:6,21; Phil. 1:27, Eph. 2:19-22)
CULTURAL RELEVANCE - Creativity, innovation
and the arts are helpful in proclaiming God’s changeless message in an ever-changing
world.
(Colossians 4:4-5)
RELATIONSHIPS - People matter to God and the
elements of growth are found in pure and simple relationships. The words
authentic,
real, transparent and honest give text to the ideals to which
we are committed. This is the
way we honor each other.
(Romans 12:10)
SEEKERS - People who are living without a vital
and authentic relationship with God, through Jesus, matter to us, because
they
matter to God.
(Luke 5:31)
STEWARDSHIP - How we manage our resources and
finances as individuals and as an organization are the most tangible ways
we can glorify
God. It is our desire to honor God’s trust in us as leaders by using His
resources wisely and for His purposes. We take seriously the
biblical principals of
operation within His provisions and recognize our responsibility
to manage the resources He provides with integrity and faithfulness.
(Titus 2:7-8)
EXCELLENCE - If it’s worth doing , it’s worth
doing well. If we are going to capture the attention of the un-churched it
is imperative
that we speak to them both verbally as well as nonverbal, through
excellence. Some are
looking for any excuse to discredit the message . If they sense
that we are careless or unconcerned about how we communicate
the message, their perception
could be that the message is not important.
(Ecclesiastes 9:10)
CLEAR CONSCIENCE - Who we are always determines
what we do. Our private lives and public lives are equally important. Truthful
principals that develop character and help us do what is right
under any circumstances
are valued. (Hebrews 13:8)
GLOBAL VISION - Any vision less than global is to small. Through
action and involvement we seek to help people have a simple and
vital relationship with God through Jesus. To become devoted
followers of Christ as we impact
our community , city, state, country and world.
(Luke 19:10; Acts 1:8)
Pastoral Staff
As a church we will experience growth and maturity resulting from a constant feeding upon God’s Word. We have discovered as God’s sheep develop and mature through a systematic study of the Scriptures. Reproduction is the natural result. We invite you to join with us as we journey together through the scriptures in their entirety, chapter by chapter and verse by verse. We pray God will bless and build you through these studies. Ask the Holy Spirit to tutor you as you study, for He is the One who “… will guide you into all truth…” - John 16:13.
Pastor Doug Fairrington
Our style of worship at Living Hope is
contemporary, but our approach is ageless. Worship is attributing worth to
Jesus. We do this through songs of thanksgiving for our life; adoration of
our loving Lord; celebration of the victory we have in Him; proclamation
of His kingdom, power, and glory; and hope for now and eternity.
